The aim of the present investigation was to evaluate the effect of ischolar_main trimming, shoot topping, pre-sowing seed soaking treatments and seed/ pod weight on seedling quality and early growth in Pongamia pinnata. Root coiling was reduced when ischolar_mains were trimmed at 5 cm length. Maximum number of nodules was observed in plants with trimmed ischolar_mains as compared to untrimmed. Shoot topping at 10 cm height resulted in maximum shoot and ischolar_main growth. In trial on effect of seed/pod weight on seed germination, maximum seed germination was achieved in seeds with minimum 100- seed weight among the different treatments tried. Among the pre-sowing seed treatments, maximum seed germination was observed with 8 hours of water soaking. Maximum height and diameter was observed in seeds with no water soaking treatments.Keywords

With the aim to determine the effect of inorganic and biofertilizers, alone and in combination, on nutrient uptake of Dalbergia sissoo seedlings, an experiment was conducted comprising all possible thirty-six combinations of three levels of nitrogen, three levels of phosphorus and four biofertilizers levels. Dual inoculation with Rhizobium and VAM resulted in significantly higher N and P uptake by shoot and ischolar_main components as against single inoculation of- Extraction and Analysis of Ketamine (a Rave Drug) from Spiked Fruit Juices Using MEPS-MS for Forensic Purposes

Micro extraction packed sorbent (MEPS) containing C8 and SCX (strong cation exchange) is employed to extract ketamine, a rave drug from fruit juices. The eluant was detected by mass spectral analysis wherein the drug was detected as a parent as well as some prominent fragment ions. The resultant MEPS-MS method proved very efficient and rapid. The mass spectrum of the eluant showed the parent ion peak (MH+) of ketamine at m/z 238 along with (MH2+) peak (30% of MH+) due to chlorine atom in the drug molecule. The daughter ions at m/z 220 and 207 were possible to be formed from the MH+ by loss of water and methylamine molecule respectively. Another daughter ion at m/z 179 was proposed to be formed by the loss of CO (28 mass units) from m/z 207 whereas m/z 125 was assigned to a chlorobenzyl cation. Based on the mode of fragmentation of drug to m/z 220 and 207 and their abundances, these ions can be used for quantitative analysis through selective reaction monitoring (SRM).Keywords

Mephedrone (MEPH) is a synthetic derivative of cathinone, an alkaloid extracted from plant khat. Developed countries like UK, USA, Australia and Israel are the main places of MEPH abuse. Abuse of cathinone and MEPH in India has started recently. The young generation in metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Panaji is being affected by its abuse. The increasing misuse of MEPH in India was due to its non-inclusion in the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 earlier. Due to the threat of MEPH abuse in the country, the Government of India included it in the NDPS Act from February 2015. Since then, the law enforcement agencies have taken strict action against MEPH users and traffickers.
In India, new drugs are rapidly emerging in the market and posing challenges for forensic toxicologists and law enforcement agencies. The seized drugs, urine and blood samples of the abusers are sent to forensic science laboratories for analysis. These samples are first screened by thin-layer chromatography, and then the confirmation and quantitation are done using modern instrumental methods. However, no studies are available in the literature on drug detection in saliva, sweat and other biological materials. Therefore a suitable technique needs to be developed for its detection in biological matrices. Particularly so for a country like India, this drug abuse is constantly increasing. In this article, we deal with the chemistry, pharmodynamics, drug-herb interaction, metabolic fate (pharmokinetics), related fatalities, abuse, effects and detection methods of MEPH, to create awareness about this drug abuse in India.

The success of any enterprise will depend on two major factors: one is the environment of working and another is commitment, through which reliability and creditability increase among the various stakeholders. In India, most of the enterprises in public sector are suffering from heavy losses, continuously, and disinvesting is taking the place speedily. The main focus of this paper is concentrated on power sector, as the next era is related to digitalization, the challenges will also increase and these may also be converted into opportunities by implementing proper policies and practices. The parameter of human resources has also been changed in this changing environment, the researcher tried to cover maximum parameters applicable in public sector enterprises, leveraging HRM policies and critically analyse their impact on working environment and commitment. Further, this study includes the applicability of HRM policies with theoretical and in practice methods. This paper will also describe the various problems facing by the enterprise in public sectors in India and their remedies with respect to the current scenario of global market at competitive age, and providing facts and details to examine how HRM Policies has affected and is affecting the growth and market share of the business.Keywords
